Social change involves your head and your heart. Enhancing your understanding of the issue you want to address, learning about those you seek to help, and building cultural competence are vital to developing successful solutions.
Issue Area Research: You have limited time and are passionate about using your resources for good, but you may lack the information you need to make informed decisions. I will prepare an issue summary to help you gain context and deep knowledge about the issue you want to change.
Empathy Mapping: Learn to develop better interventions and stakeholder experience by approaching social problems through the lens of an individual’s experience. This exercise helps you identify assumptions, biases, and blind spots and reveals what stakeholders (e.g. community residents, grantees, customers) think and feel, see, hear, say and do.
Landscape Scan: It is essential to understand the breadth of a problem before you determine your approach to solve it. Completed scans may include a summary of past efforts, current funding, policy, local assets, emerging practices, and successful models for the issue that you want to address.
Executive Leadership Support: Building the capacity of board members and senior staff is vital for social change. I conduct capacity assessments and use my experience as an Executive Director, fundraiser, and COO to codesign solutions.
Additional Services: Custom reading lists, Philanthropy 101, Social change primer
